John Maceri has been CEO of The People Concern, a nonprofit housing and service organization, since 1999, during which time the agency has grown to have an annual operating budget of $85 million, a staff of 800, an active volunteer corps of 700, and over 12,000 clients per year.

The People Concern focuses on delivering affordable, supportive housing and wrap around services that assist people in moving off the streets into permanent housing and maintaining their housing, and advocacy and policy changes that improve systems of care.

In addition to his work with the Santa Monica Bay Area Human Relations Council where he is the past board chair, Maceri also serves on the board of NoHo Home Alliance, a non-profit serving homeless individuals and families in the North Hollywood area of the San Fernando Valley.

Maceri has been a thought leader and systems change agent in the financing and construction of permanent supportive housing, as well as housing and services for people experiencing homelessness who are high utilizers of hospital emergency rooms.

He is serving as a managing partner for the 2023-2024 cycle of the California Improvement Network, a project of the California Health Care Foundation that is managed by Healthforce Center at UCSF.
