Genevieve M. Kenney is codirector and a senior fellow in the Health Policy Center of the Urban Institute. She has been conducting policy research for over 25 years and is a nationally renowned expert on Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the broad health and health care issues facing children and families in low-income households. She has led a number of evaluations of Medicaid and CHIP policy changes and serves on a number of advisory groups and expert panels in these areas.

In her current research, she is assessing impacts of the Affordable Care Act and the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act, variation in access to primary care, and state and federal efforts to enroll more children and adults in Medicaid.
