Donna L. Washington, MD, MPH, is a physician and health services researcher who has devoted her career to the health care needs of vulnerable and underserved populations. Her research addresses on health care access, quality, and equity, with a focus on racial-ethnic minority veterans and women veterans. In current research, she is examining racial-ethnic, socioeconomic, and gender disparities experienced by veterans.

Washington is a graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges, earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She is an attending physician in the Department of Medicine at the Department of Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and a professor of medicine at UCLA.
