CIN Webinar – Affordability Accelerator Framework: A Roadmap to Improve Patient Out-of-Pocket Costs

About This Event

Health care affordability, in terms of out-of-pocket patient costs, is a leading health care concern and influencer of health status. Such unexpected costs are associated with worse patient experience, adherence to appointments and medications, and patient trust. More than 50% of households are spending 30 cents per dollar of income on health care. How do we address and reduce these out-of-pocket health care costs for patients?

In this webinar hosted by the California Improvement Network (CIN), Dr. Reshma Gupta, chief of population health and accountable care at University of California Davis and co-director, Cost of Care, Inc., will lead a discussion on the Affordability Accelerator Framework, a roadmap of opportunities to reduce out-of-pocket health care costs across the continuum of patient care. Participants will learn about how this framework was developed and efforts to promote it within health systems to implement programs providing patients guidance, financial navigation, and trust-building.

This webinar is intended for patient navigators and patient support staff, allied health care providers, and leaders working in health plans and other health care payor settings.

At the end of the webinar participants will:

  • Understand the Affordability Accelerator Framework and how to center patients in cost of care conversations.
  • Learn about key opportunities to reduce patient out-of-pocket costs including through policy and system change.

This event is offered free of charge. Please share this invitation with your network!
