Medi-Cal provides health insurance to over half of all Californian children, close to two million seniors and people with disabilities, and nearly one in six workers. In total, around 15 million people – about one in three Californians – are covered by this program.
Our work in Medi-Cal is more important than ever as federal and state policy changes in 2024 are expected to severely reduce resources for the program and increases barriers to enrollment. We support initiatives to improve access, quality, and equity; advance whole-person care approaches; enhance provider networks; and ensure that enrollees receive comprehensive, coordinated services.
