About This Event

The California Health Care Foundation and the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California hosted a panel-style conversation with two physician leaders to discuss how the needs of seriously ill Californians are changing in the context of COVID-19, especially for those communities that are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

Objectives

Examined how the disparate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color, people with low incomes, and other socially vulnerable communities may affect therapeutic relationships and care delivery
Described approaches to supporting people with serious illness whose communities are disproportionately affected by COVID-19
Identified new opportunities to enhance specialty palliative care services and advance patient care despite the limitations of the COVID era
