An overview slide deck (PDF) includes general information about palliative care and SB 1004 requirements, as well as survey data collected from health plans and provider organizations in early 2019 describing their experiences implementing SB 1004. This information pertains only to SB 1004 requirements for adults; information on more recent requirements related to pediatric palliative care is available through the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California.

Policy documents, requirements for Medi-Cal managed care plans, and additional information about the law are available on the California Department of Health Care Services SB 1004 web page.
