Emerging Opportunity to Serve More Residents through the CalAIM Program

About This Event

This webinar is designed to provide a general overview of the CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) Community Supports program. It will look in more detail at two Community Supports designed to help people remain in the community either by facilitating transitions from a nursing facility back into a home-like, community setting or prevent nursing facility admissions who, with proper supports, can live in the community. These two Community Supports are Nursing Facility Transition and Diversion to Assisted Living Facilities and Community Supports programs. The webinar, hosted by Senior Community Learning with CHCF support, will also cover the potential opportunities and challenges for assisted living operators.

Presenters will discuss how the CalAIM initiative has the potential to increase access to quality and person-centered assisted living for Medi-Cal enrollees. They will also discuss eligibility and resident profiles, outline assessment and reporting requirements, and anticipated outcomes.

Continuing Education Units are available. One hour is approved for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, Adult Residential Facilities, and nurses. Department of Social Services’ approval is pending.
