There’s no shortage of data about what happens in California’s public behavioral health system. But too often, the data are redundant, not actionable, or not meaningful. To improve the system, we need to see how it works — and that story can’t currently be told.

CHCF supports research and analysis to understand the data collection and analysis that California has now and how to improve it. The foundation works with California’s state agencies and departments, with counties, and with providers to understand their challenges in data collection and data exchange.
