Supporting Health Journalism
For nearly its entire 20-year history, CHCF has been a funder of nonprofit journalism, helping strengthen the capacity to cover health policy in California and nationally. We believe effective reporting helps advance understanding of the complexity of health care issues, puts a human face on these issues, and illuminates the consequences of a system that doesn’t work well, especially for California’s most vulnerable populations.
The foundation currently supports the following organizations:
- Public Media
- Association of Health Care Journalists
- Health Affairs
- USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism Data Fellowships
In addition, the foundation supports California Healthline, a free, daily publication featuring health care news, opinion, and original reporting for health care professionals, decisionmakers, media organizations, and consumers independently published by Kaiser Health News for CHCF.
