Governor Names Sandra R. Hernández to Healthy California for All Commission

Today Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Sandra R. Hernández, MD, president and CEO of the California Health Care Foundation, to the Healthy California for All Commission. The Commission is charged with developing a plan to help California achieve a health care delivery system that provides coverage and access through a unified financing system, including — but not limited to — a single-payer financing system for all Californians.

In response to the appointment, Hernández issued the following statement:

“I am honored to serve on the Healthy California for All Commission and to be part of a distinguished team of leaders charting our state’s health care future. I have spent my career in pursuit of universal coverage and deeply believe California has what it takes to ensure that everyone has access to affordable care. I look forward to learning and contributing — along with my fellow Commissioners — about ways to get the best care and the most value for everyone.”
