Lisa Aliferis is a senior communications officer focused on CHCF’s cross-foundational work involving CalAIM, the state’s multi-year initiative to improve the health outcomes and overall well-being of Medi-Cal enrollees. CHCF develops tools and resources aimed at helping organizations implementing CalAIM programs. Lisa also is the senior communications officer for the CHCF Innovation Fund, which invests in technology and service companies with the potential to significantly lower the cost of care or improve access to care for Californians with low incomes.
Lisa came to the foundation after working as a health journalist for 25 years, most recently at KQED News. Lisa’s work has been published by NPR’s Shots, Kaiser Health News, and JAMA Internal Medicine. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brown University. As part of her year as a Kaiser Family Foundation Media Fellow in Health, she completed graduate courses at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health.
