Challen Clarke is managing editor at the California Health Care Foundation, where she leads the production of CHCF publications, including reports, explainers, infographics, and data visualizations. She guides projects from draft to publication, shaping complex health policy research into clear, accessible content for policymakers and other audiences across California.
Prior to her current role, Challen served as executive assistant to the senior vice president of strategy and programs at CHCF, supporting organizational planning and cross-team coordination. Before joining CHCF, she worked as an executive assistant at Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company.
Challen holds an MFA in nonfiction writing from Saint Mary’s College of California and a BA in English from the University of San Francisco.
