Webinar — Academic Detailing: Changing Prescriber Behavior Through Brief, In-Person Encounters
About This Event
Pharmaceutical companies have proven that detailing — using brief, in-person visits to share “details” about a drug’s efficacy — is an effective sales tool. “Academic detailing” borrows these techniques to support health care goals, including promoting cost-effective care through generic prescribing.
In this webinar, learn how the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) cut opioid-related emergency visits in half by implementing detailing techniques — informing clinicians of the benefits of co-prescribing naloxone to patients on daily opioids. The team also developed academic detailing toolkits and training materials to support safer opioid prescribing practices.
This webinar reviews the data supporting academic detailing and describes practical approaches that can be used in your community.
