The Context
It’s anticipated that federal policymakers in 2025 will introduce major changes to the Medicaid budget as well as to the regulations and rules governing the program. Any large-scale federal changes to Medicaid (called Medi-Cal in California) have far-reaching consequences for California’s health care system and the millions of Californians enrolled in the program.
The goal of this page is to collect in one place resources to help advocates, policymakers, health care leaders and other partners to: (1) understand the current Medi-Cal program and (2) stay abreast of new federal policies and actions under debate and their potential impact in California.
This page will be updated. If you want to recommend additional resources, contact Anne Sunderland.
