These dashboards centralize basic information about Covered California individual enrollment, coverage, and premiums to answer questions such as: How many people are enrolled? Which health plans are they in? What is their income? What is the deductible for bronze coverage? What did enrollees pay for coverage each month? How big is the average monthly premium subsidy? What about last year? What are the numbers in my county or my rating region?
Use these dashboards to get your answers to all these questions and more. The dashboards sort the information by county, by region, and by year. All include statewide highlights and will be updated regularly.

Background: Covered California, the state’s Affordable Care Act exchange, provides access to individual health insurance and to subsidies to help pay for it. The first enrollments took effect in January 2014. Federal subsidies are available to those with incomes between 138% and 400% of the federal poverty guidelines (FPL). Beginning in 2020, new state subsidies will provide more help for Californians, including people with moderate incomes, those earning between 400% and 600% of FPL.
Methodology notes: The source for all enrollment figures, average premium, and subsidy amounts was the Covered California Active Member Profiles. Benefit levels reflect Covered California’s Patient Centered Benefit Designs descriptions. For privacy reasons, Covered California publishes enrollment figures rounded to the nearest 10 enrollees. At the county level, distributions of enrollment were computed based on the sum of rounded enrollment.
Additional resources: Californians can switch coverage or sign up as new enrollees during open enrollment, which runs from October 15, 2019, to January 31, 2020. Covered California’s Shop and Compare tool shows enrollees their options.
