On March 16, 2021, CHCF, along with The California Endowment, The California Wellness Foundation, and Blue Shield of California Foundation, asked Governor Gavin Newsom to assure that FQHCs and nonprofit community-based organizations led by people of color be prioritized for receiving federal funding from the recently passed American Rescue Plan Act. These foundations have been part of a $30 million philanthropic effort to support COVID-19 education, outreach, and engagement to the most impacted communities. Read the full letter (PDF).
