California Improvement Network (CIN) partners — provider groups and coalitions, health plans, and quality improvement organizations — gathered in February 2014 to discuss preventing provider and staff burnout. To optimize health systems, the “triple aim” of improving patient experience, improving population health, and reducing costs might include a fourth aim: workforce satisfaction.

Guest speakers from these organization joined the partners:

  • Vocera Communications
  • California Area Health Education Center Program
  • Petaluma Health Center
  • San Francisco Health Plan

Presenters shared research on the impact of health care workforce burnout and experiences on prevention strategies.

A full summary of the meeting, which includes highlights from speakers’ presentations and links to online resources, is available as a Document Download.
