Anna Haghgooie is a managing director in the health care group of Sandbox Industries, a Chicago-based venture capital firm focused on implementing innovation by connecting established corporations with innovative start-ups and entrepreneurs. In the health care market, Sandbox is the exclusive provider of investment management services to Blue Cross Blue Shield Venture Partners, a collaborative investment platform with $575 million in capital and 30 participating.

Haghgooie currently serves on the board of directors of ExactCare, Somatus, ZeOmega, Contessa, Axial Healthcare, Allay, and SonarMD, and is a board observer at Solera Health. Previously she served on the board of directors of naviHealth and Change Healthcare, and was a board observer at Essence Group Healthcare. Before joining Sandbox in 2008, Anna was the general manager at an integrative medicine start-up and covered the health care markets as associate director of corporate finance at Fitch Ratings. She started her career in the financial management program at GE Capital.

Anna is a Fellow in the Health Innovators Fellowship at the Aspen Institute and was named to the Crain’s Tech 50 list in 2017.

Anna earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
