On July 1, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released a draft RFP for the upcoming reprocurement of commercial Medi-Cal managed care plans. The 30-day public comment period for the document ended July 1. This was an important opportunity for organizations to provide feedback to DHCS on how the RFP can be improved to help ensure better access, equity, and quality of care for millions of Californians who rely on Medi-Cal. DHCS will release the final version by early December.
CHCF invited organizations to share with us the comments they submitted to DHCS. CHCF has commissioned an analysis of the comments by Bailit Health, which will identify prevalent key themes that emerge across the various recommendations to DHCS.
The analysis of comments will be published in August, and CHCF will host a webinar to discuss the findings on August 5 from noon to 1:15 PM (PT). Explore all of CHCF’s resources on the upcoming Medi-Cal managed care procurement in this collection.
