About this Freelance Opportunity

CHCF is seeking skilled report layout specialists to create data reports with minimal supervision. You should be comfortable working with established Adobe InDesign templates, using established paragraph styles, and character styles. CHCF reports contain a significant amount of data charts, numbers, hyperlinks, and source notes. You will be responsible for laying out copy in the report templates, creating charts in Adobe Illustrator from data provided, and linking created assets in the report layout. Final reports are generated as interactive PDFs with bookmarks, live reference links to source notes, live hyperlinks from source notes, and an interactive Table of Contents.

CHCF reports vary in size and complexity with an estimated duration of 1 to 3 months depending on complexity. Final assets (Interactive PDF, InDesign file, Illustrator charts, and any related images used in report) will be transferred to CHCF upon completion of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Create visually appealing report layouts using InDesign templates
• Create and incorporate data charts, numbers, hyperlinks, and source notes into the reports
• Ensure consistency in design and formatting throughout the report
• Collaborate with editor and author/s to address any layout challenges
• Allow for up to four rounds of edits and revisions

Key Capabilities:

• High proficiency in Adobe InDesign

• Ability to create interactive hyperlinks from references to source notes, live hyperlinks from source notes, interactive bookmarks, and interactive Table of Contents.
