About This Event

As we collectively respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for resilient leadership has never been greater. This California Improvement Network webinar series, Compassionate Leadership in Times of Crisis, combines sources of inspiration with pragmatic resources and tools customized to support health care professionals in staying resilient. This content is based on the resilient leadership framework of Leah Weiss, PhD, MSW, with a deep dive on purpose, self-compassion, compassion, and mindfulness.

This third webinar is focused on compassion. By the end of this session participants will:

  • Clarify the difference between compassion and empathy
  • Understand the neuroscience research behind compassion’s impact
  • Understand the dangers of compassion fatigue in health care
  • Create mental models for how to start practicing compassion in a small action

Each session is one hour, and participants can join one or all sessions. Each webinar has its own registration link. A recording of the session will be made available to CIN partners and members who register for the webinar. If you’re not already a member, join CIN here or sign up during the registration process when prompted (CIN members are those who receive the CIN newsletter).
