Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Addiction to opioids, including both prescribed pain medication and heroin, is at epidemic levels in the United States. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction combines medication with behavioral health services and has been proven to save lives and increase recovery rates. Still, today only 1 in 10 of those who need help with treatment for substance use can access MAT. CHCF is working to increase access to MAT.
