Quality Grand Rounds Series in the Annals of Internal Medicine

This series of 13 case studies on patient safety was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and presented during grand rounds at several hospitals. The cases are based on real experiences and include expert analyses.

The Quality Grand Rounds series of 13 case studies on patient safety was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and supported by the California HealthCare Foundation. The cases, published over four years from 2002 to 2006, and presented during grand rounds at several hospitals, are based on real experiences and include expert analyses. CHCF founding president and CEO Mark D. Smith, MD, MBA, was a co-executive editor of the series.

In an effort to provide practical assistance to hospitals in promoting cultures that support higher-quality care and patient safety, the articles in the series are available free of charge on the Annals of Internal Medicine Web site through the External Links. Also included are links to the opening and closing editorials of the Quality Grand Rounds series.
