California Community Clinics EHR Assessment and Readiness Project

This project provides community clinic leaders and policymakers with information about the impact of electronic health records (EHRs) in a safety-net setting.

August 2005

In late 2004, CHCF, in partnership with the Community Clinics Initiative (CCI), began a project to assess barriers to adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) by safety-net providers. The project, which culminated in a May 2005 conference, includes tools to define community clinic EHR-related needs, evaluate clinic interest in EHR products, and assess clinics' readiness for adopting EHRs.

The project summary and a slide presentation with high-level findings from the conference are available under Document Downloads below.

Complete materials from the EHR: Pathway to Healthier Communites forum in May 2005 include the EHR readiness assessment; the EHR product guide; and workshop and plenary session handouts. To access these materials use the link below to the Community Clinics Initiative Web site.
