Hospitals, physician groups, and other provider organizations around the country are responding to one of the latest big ideas in health care: accountable care organizations (ACOs). ACOs are a centerpiece of health care delivery reform contained within the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA), and are being touted by proponents as a solution to today's expensive and fragmented care system. With respect to ACOS, the Market & Policy Monitor program is examining the landscape, studying the regulatory issues connected to the creation of ACOs; and determining how ACOs would work in the public sector (community clinics and public hospitals).
Listed below are publications and projects that CHCF's Market & Policy Monitor Program has contributed in the area of ACOs.
