Karen Johnson is the chief deputy director, Policy and Program Support, for the California Department of Health Care Services. Since taking that position in 2007, she has been responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day operations, implementing department policies, and assisting in policy formulation. Karen previously served as deputy director of the California State Board of Equalization. She is a graduate of Saint Louis University, where she studied business administration and accounting. She is a licensed certified public accountant.
