Protecting your privacy is important to us. The following will help you understand how CHCF collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you may provide on our websites.
If you are not subscribed to a CHCF mailing list, then we do not collect any personally identifiable information about you. We do log users' IP addresses (the Internet address of a computer) to understand which pages of our websites users visit, how long users spend there, which files users download, and the type of computer, operating system, and browser our users have. We use this data to determine which parts of the sites are being visited most frequently and to help ensure our websites work well with a wide variety of hardware and software.
Anyone who signs up to be on a CHCF mailing list must provide a full name, valid email address, state, and zip code. Subscribers may elect to provide a job title, organization name, industry type, and interest areas to help us target additional updates that may be of interest. This data is kept strictly confidential and stored in a secured and encrypted environment.
CHCF's use of this information is very limited. This information is not shared with any other organization. We do not associate your IP address with any personally identifiable data.
CHCF sends emails to our subscribers announcing new releases, events, requests for proposals (RFPs), press releases, and other activities of the foundation, its programs, and affiliated organizations. We track whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked on, if any. We use this information to determine the efficacy of our public outreach. At any time, a subscriber may unsubscribe from one or more subscriptions by clicking the "Update Preferences" button in any CHCF email. Subscribers may also use the "Unsubscribe" link to permanently be removed from all subscriptions.
"Cookies" are small text files that websites can store on a user's computer to recognize repeat visitors. The computer of each visitor to a CHCF website receives a cookie unless the user blocks the cookie. No personal information is contained in the cookie. To improve our websites, CHCF uses an industry-standard tool (Google Analytics) to analyze website traffic.
Before submitting any personal data, we advise you that the information submitted will be used by CHCF only to keep you apprised of new publications, requests for proposals, upcoming events, and other CHCF-related activities, including the activities of programs or related projects. We will not sell your personal information or share it with any third party. CHCF does not contract with any advertising or marketing agencies to gather individual or group profile data on our visitors based on their personal profiles. CHCF does not host or target for-profit advertising to visitors. CHCF does promote the work of the foundation, as well as its grantees and partners, on all of its sites.
Security of Information
The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the data submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use industry-standard means to protect your personal information in our possession, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our websites, contact the CHCF Communications Department.
